216 Cross-Platform Colors
Monitors use red, green and blue (RGB) phosphor guns to produce colors. These are represented by six-digit hexidecimal values within the HTML code; two characters for the "R" (red) value; two for "G" (green) value; and two for "B" (blue) value.

Black, for example, is <font color="#FFFFFF">
White is <font color="#000000">

Color may also be represented by alpha names, such as <font color="red"> for "red" or <font color="black"> for "black".

There are 216 colors that display correctly across all platforms and browsers, particularly on older monitors and browser versions. Newer systems and browsers allow use of more colors.

If you would like to obtain laminated color charts and/or reference charts for HTML, ASP codes try Visibone at www.visibone.com. They developed the color and HTML code charts illustrated here.
